We were both bored today, trying to think of what to do, and then A reminded me about the sunflower kit he insisted we get last week—bringing the box down from the same spot I’d been leaving it every time he asked.

I’d kept putting it off—not because I didn’t want to do it with him, but the timing never quite worked. It was always right before dinner, or just before a nap, or when we were about to head out. But today, we actually had the time to sit down and do it properly, and with spring finally here, it felt like the perfect moment to plant something and watch it grow.

He was so into it from start to finish—scooping the soil, planting the seeds, and watering (a little enthusiastically). There was definitely a bit of mess, but that’s part of it.

It was nice to slow down and do something a bit different together, and even nicer knowing we’ve got something to keep checking on over the next few weeks.
