We chose a low-level table (chowki) over a table and chair setup at home for one simple reason—it works better for A.
The table and chair just didn’t feel natural. A would sit for a short time and then move away, often choosing the floor instead.
The low table removes that disconnect.
A can walk over, sit down in any position—cross-legged, kneeling, even leaning—and start straight away. There’s no adjustment needed, no right or wrong way to sit.
We’ve noticed that this freedom makes a big difference. A stays longer, focuses more, and returns to it throughout the day without prompting.
It also supports independence. A doesn’t need help getting in or out, and can use the space whenever they want. That sense of control shows in how often it’s chosen.
It’s a small change, but one that’s made everyday activities feel easier, more natural, and more consistent for A.
